6x Chateau Haut Peyruguet Bordeaux Grand Vin 2015

£77.00

Options:

Merlot / Cabernet Sauvignon • 13.5% Vol • £12.84 per bottle

A seriously good value Bordeaux Grand Vin from Soussac, a tiny hamlet of 150 residents on the slopes of the Butte de Launay in the Gironde department, Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

An ideal cellar stocker - the 2014 won gold medals at the Gilbert et Gaillard and Lyon Awards. The 2015 looks no different in quality.

The Jolivet family have produced wine on their 27 hectare estate for four generations, and in 1999 joined with neighbouring winegrowers and invested in a waste water treatment plant to protect the environment so dear to them.

Quite simply - real producers putting genuine love into what they do.

The Corkscrew said: ‘This is a cracking wine that we discovered during our recent marathon Bordeaux tasting. One of only a few to make us really smile, this modern-style Bordeaux is sure to please any one with taste buds and, because it look so smart, it will please those without! And it's great value!”

Montagna said: ‘Merlot brings color, roundness and fruityness while the Cabernet gives it finesse and richness in elegant tannins. This is a generous, fruity, structured, easy to access, both seductive and with character.’

Trusted at The Goring Hotel, and restaurant La Trompette, as well as here at Gauthier Soho, where Head Sommelier Pierrick is suggesting it by the glass with the Berkshire Pork Fillet Fondant Turnips, Swiss Chard,Black Garlic, Five Spice & Honey Pork Jus,

A fantastic price at just 12.84 per bottle.
