What can we say about this wine? We've had it in the restaurant for a few weeks now and it keeps being turned to for its fabulous versatility, especially with the winter menu.

This wine is typically showing the wonderful terroir of Faugères, in Languedoc Roussillon, near Bédarieux and Béziers. 

Grenache, Syrah blended wines are the particular specialty of the southern Rhone Valley in France, and this blend is also part of the Châteauneuf du Pape wine making. 

Chateau Fardel-Laurens Faugeres is a Silver medal winner at the prestigious Vinalies International 2015. Certified Bio (Organic). 

As with many of the wines from Faugeres, this is dark purple red colour and really concentrated with spices aromas, and raspberries aromas thanks to the Grenache, with  rich, meaty aromas and flavours joined by voluptuous notes of blackberry. 

Complex yet pure-tasting, with a lush finish of spice and chocolate, featuring accents of paprika. 

Very long finish, the oak barrel gives some length and complexity to this marvellous wine. It will definitely keep very well in a cellar for a few more years. 

In the dining room, this wine is showing at his greatest with a lovely beef and its bone marrow, lamb chops, Duck Apicius and absolutely with cheese.

Ready to drink, but will lay down for another couple if years and develop further.
