6x Château du Caillau Malbec 2014
Please note the 2013 vintage has now sold out, we are now stocking the 2014 vintage. Pictures to follow.
A light French Malbec, typifying South-West France. Cahors is the original home of Malbec - The grape that inspired the spicy, rich, high alcohol new world wines of Argentina.
Château du Caillau is an example of how the old vines and pebbled earth of real Malbec produces wines which are light and refined.
Château du Caillau is a subtlely gamey, low in alcohol and overall elegant wine from the famous Phillipe Bernede estate, which has been producing for six generations.
Being only 12.5% lends itself to easy drinking, summer lunches and parties.
Château du Caillau is very popular with top London restaurants such as Chelsea's fabulous new The Ivy Chelsea Garden (£28 per bottle) and local favourite gastropub The Phene (£33), as well as South Kensington's Five Star Ampersand Hotel (£34). Other notable fans are Shoreditch's brilliant Casa Negra (£33) and Primrose Hill celebrity local Lemonia (£27).
