6x Chateau de Pic Bordeaux 2012
An absolutely superb value Bordeaux from the Domaine du Pic in Le Tourne on the east banks of the Garonne, near Cadillac.
The Château de Pic is owned and run by François Masson-Regnault, a trained oenologist and vintage Rolls Royce enthusiast. 'One of the best wine makers in the Premières Côtes de Bordeaux' - Laithwaite's
A classic Merlot-Cabernet Sauvignon, this Grand Vin de Bordeaux has a lovely deep red crimson colour with hints of purple. The nose is quite savoury, with red fruits, cassis and plum mixing with hints of spice, cedar and earthiness. This wine will compliment rich winter poultry and game dishes such as duck or pheasant with berries and stewed stone fruits.
Notably, Château de Pic is trusted by sommeliers at the Roxburghe Hotel Edinburgh, under the eye of Albert Roux. At Gauthier Soho, Château de Pic is paired with the Barbary Duck, Braised Spelt, Sultanas, Glazed Calcott Onion Honey & Soy Quail Jus on the Winter Menu.
Fantastic value at just £12.90 per bottle, Château de Pic will stand side by side with Bordeaux wines three times the price.
