1x Domaine De Moulines Merlot 2018
Lunch wine, 100% merlot, medium bodied, unfiltered, unoaked so showing freshness of fruit. Smooth and soft tannins, a touch of spice. Goes with white meats or charred vegetables. Serving at Gauthier Soho with the Charred Calçot Onion on the vegan tasting menu.
The Syrah/Grenache (EXCITING WINEMAKER ALERT):
1x Katie Jones Rouge 2016
From the South of France and made by a British producer gaining more and more attention. Very well made and classic in style. Very ripe red and black fruit, powerful structure. A little kick of black pepper at the end. We’re serving this with the vegan lunch main course of heritage carrots and tarragon.
The Grüner Veltliner (THE asparagus match!) :
1x Domaine Wachau Grüner Veltliner Federspiel Terrassen 2018
A beautiful typical example of this aromatic grape variety from the steep slopes of the Wachau valley. An amazing introduction to Austrian wine, dry with hints of orchard fruits such as pear and apple. A little touch of white pepper spice. The perfect addition to asparagus, especially green, which we are very excited about.
1x Neil Ellis Groenekloof Syrah 2016
Bold, powerful, robust, intense yet balanced with a beautiful black fruit aroma.
Neil Ellis is now a confirmed ‘legend’ in the field, working with sustainable practices in Stellenbosch. We are serving this with the spring Lamb dishes at Gauthier Soho.
1x Disznóko Tokaji Dry Furmint 2018 (strictly limited)
A dry Hungarian Tokaji, one of the big favourites on our lunch menu, popular for its freshness and precise, clean style which should surprise you with zesty citrus aromas with a hint of watermelon. We're serving with the velouté of celeriac and apple on the lunch menu.
The Sauvignon Blanc/Colombard
1x Plaimont Les Trois Fontaines Cotes de Gascognes 2018
You may be familiar with the red from the same maker, now we are happy to introduce the white. A perfect marriage of the very aromatic colombard and the classic dry sauvignon, light bodied, easy to drink, low alcohol and beautiful golden colour. Suits most light starters or can be enjoyed as an aperitif. We're serving this with the roasted scallop and Jerusalem artichokes on the Gauthier soho lunch menu.
