100% Cabernet Franc • Chinon AOC • 13% Vol
As lots of you will be familiar with, Domaine de la Marinère has been a steadfast 'bankable' Chinon Cabernet Franc on the list here almost as long as Gauthier Soho has been open. Its unique blue-striped bottle almost becoming part of the decoration here in the restaurant.
A classic Cabernet Franc from the great independent wine maker Renaud Desbourdes, Domaine de la Mariniere pairs effortlessly with pink lamb and braised meats, it's a no-brainer to stock up with for a 'talking point' aperitif or super fresh red wine for a Sunday lunch.
After countless requests, we are happy to annonce we are now to offer Domaine de la Marinière to enjoy at home.
Fruit, fruit and more fruit
An explosion of sharp black and red berry fruits, with a slight complexity of pepper and a tannic frame. At Gauthier Soho we currently serve with the bone marrow and ox cheek starter on the Spring lunch menu.
Says Jancis Robinson in her World Atlas of Wine: ‘The Cabernet Franc of Chinon makes vigorous wine with raspberry fruitiness and the rasping savour of a sharpened pencil. The wine has the substance and structure, like a good Bordeaux, to mature for a decade. For its quality it is absurdly undervalued’.
We are offering Domaine de la Marinière to you today at £15.34 per bottle.
